Nottingham County Council
Highway services team were appointed to work with Nottingham′s Highway Partnership in 2006 extending the partnership to cover a range of services including patching and surface renewal, drainage and kerbing, and general highway improvements.
Walsall Borough CouncilThrough partnership working with Walsall Borough Council we are providing a more streamlined winter maintenance service throughout the borough with fast and effective solutions ensuring minimum disruption for local road users.
Leicestershire County CouncilWe have been working with Leicestershire County Council since 2008 looking after a number of their highway maintenance operations from surfacing to grass cutting.
Halton and WarringtonOur partnership with Halton and Warrington Borough Councils involves providing highway maintenance services which include: Emergency Response Planned Works, carriageway & footway patching, barrier repairs, Winter Maintenance Schemes and Major Projects.
Darrington to Dishforth
In July 2011 we secured the Highways Maintenance contract covering 50km of the A1 from Darrington to Dishforth. Over a period of 8 years Tarmac, working closely with technical services consultancy AECOM, will be responsible for a variety of services including design, planning, engineering and the management of the A1.
NorfolkThe Norfolk County Council Maintenance contract will initially run for 7 years. We will deliver highway surfacing, bridge and structures maintenance, gully cleansing, grass cutting, patching, surface dressing, and integrated transport schemes across the county.
RutlandWe will be working with Rutland County Council on a 5 year maintenance contract. The contract will include works such as: Winter maintenance, bridges and culverts, maintenance and refurbishment of street lighting and barriers.

Tarmac Contracting have been working in partnership with both Leicestershire County Council (LCC) and Leicestershire Highways Organisation (LHO) on the LHWA since the beginning of 2008. The LHWA contract was for an initial four year period with the opportunity of 3 one year extension periods, the second of which commences in April 2014.
Having worked in partnership with Leicestershire County Council since 2008, the client approached us for a sustainable solution to road construction that minimised traffic movements, caused less disruption and contributed to CO2 savings.
Working alongside KaarbonTech, who provide data collection, maintenance advice and flood risk analysis, an initial data collection exercise was carried out within the existing costs, over 2 years from 2013-15 so that a ‘needs based’ flexible cleaning regime could be adopted.
With the likelihood of reductions between 20-30% in highway budgets over the next few years, we were met with a growing requirement from our client to provide a service that is business effective, demonstrates value for money and gives us a consistent manageable platform that meets the requirements of the contract. In order to achieve this we needed to ensure that we had the right business structure in place to take the business forward and remain competitive.
